This article reports on the observation of a Swainson's Hawk (Buteo swainsoni) preying on a Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus) and carrying this presumed food source to another location. This observation is apparently the first documented observation of predation on this fast and agile avian prey by a Swainson's Hawk.
