On 20 July 2024, I discovered a Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea) at the Paloma Ranch near Gila Bend, Maricopa County. If accepted by the Arizona Bird Committee (ABC), this will be the first confirmed record of the species for Arizona.
