On 29 April 2022, Mark Otnes recorded and photographed Arizona’s first White-tipped Dove (Leptotila verreauxi). Almost one year later, Ron Beck and Janet Cunningham found and recorded the state's second record. The first sighting has been accepted by the Arizona Bird Committee; the second is still under review.
